It's been a while since I shared the first edition of Interesting Enough, a newsletter where I share all of the things that are intriguing me lately.
Today's roundup is all of the incredible supportive therapeutic groups/workshops/communities that are on my radar. It seems like September is the time to really dive into community-building and I'm šš¼ here šš¼ for šš¼ it.
if you've been itching to get your art on:
š©š»āšØ Anti-Hustle Art Studio Wednesdays 9:00 am - 10:00 am PST
A weekly online gathering with Amelia Hutchison to make art as self-care and community care. I'll be guest hosting on September 20!
if you want to connect with fellow Vancouver-ites:
š§š»āāļø Squamish half-day retreat September 24 9:30 am - 1:30 pm Yoga, meditation and guided learning with counsellor Alex Charleton. Focused on dismantling insecurities and cultivating confidence to rediscover your worthiness.
š§ø Soft Humans Care Circle Wednesdays, September 27 - October 5, 5:20 - 7:00 pm An online 5-week group with counsellor Emily focused on meaningful connection and soft, gentle care. This one is dedicated to Vancouver folks, so care can continue even when the group ends.
š§¶ Wednesday Weaving Club Wednesdays 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm | Vancouver Can I suggest myself? I don't know, but I'm going to do it. We've been weaving in the studio for nearly a year now and still going strong!
if you need a place to build community online:
š©š»āš» OhHey Community Online Monthly Membership A very cool online world created by Shauna Kaendo. There are daily community offerings including: art-making and reading prompts, coworking sessions and guided movement practices. You can become a founding member until the end of September.
š« The Fat-Tea Monthly Peer Support Meetings
Virtual meetings hosted by therapists Alexandra Shewan and Alli Parker focused on building a joyful fat community.
If you end up checking out one of these workshops or joining a community, I'd love to know your thoughts!
