This January, I am doing something a little different. Rather than making a resolution, I am starting an intentional project to bring me back into creativity and community (read more about this here). For 31 days of January, I will create art based on affirmations offered to me from my incredible community - affirmations from newsletter subscribers, Instagram followers, personal friends and family and colleagues.
When I shared this project online, I received some excited responses and plenty of affirmations that I am so excited to spend my time with this month. But to my surprise, I also received some responses asking "Can we do this with you?". The power of community unfolded and revealed even more space for sharing, connection and creativity. The am sharing the affirmations and dates so you can follow along if you'd like!
I am also going to start hosting a weekly online Affirmation Art Studio where we can come together and work on this project. It will start next Friday, January 9 and continue every Friday in January. There is a certain kind of magic that happens when we create together.
The Affirmations:Ā
I am seen and accepted as my authentic self

Quiet mind, gentle spirit, soft body, slow pace.
The world needs your sensitive creative soul
Warm body, soft heart
I am enough
I am loved
Take things step by step
I am safe to be me
I celebrate progress, not perfection
Be true to you, lead with love and what's right for you will follow
I am learning to have my own back
I hope you know that you're not alone
Don't be afraid of the unknown
Growth can't be rushed when sowing seeds of new beginnings
Acceptance, peace, welcoming, participation and patience
I honour my capacity and build within it
I trust myself to know when to push & when to pause
You'll notice that there isn't 31 affirmations on this list ... yet. As I go through the project I will keep collecting affirmations from the community until there is a full list. Trusting in the process here, reminding myself that something does not need to be fully planned before you start. You build momentum along the way and I am hoping to do just that.
Keep up with the project on Instagram. If you want to be part of this community project, please send me an affirmation at elspeth@intrinsic-therapy.comĀ or comment on this post! I am looking forward to seeing what we create together.
